Color-scaping with Analogous Colors and Encore Azaleas

Analogous Colors are any three colors that are next to each other on the color wheel. When placed in order, warm colors and cool colors are examples of analogous colors, however, they are not the only combinations. When using the color scheme, you can plant red, purple, and blue together with the secondary color (purple) between the two primary colors that combine to make it (red and blue). If choosing this example as your color scheme, plant red in the back to bring all the other flowers forward and plant blue in the front to give depth. Similarly, pink, purple, and red are analogous colors that are beautiful in the landscape.

Use Warm-colored and Cool-colored Encore® Azaleas to make an analogous color theme. Because of their different sizes, they can be used as backgrounds in flower beds, as standalones, or you can pair two varieties with another annual, perennial, or bulb. Here are some examples of pairing two Encore® Azaleas based on analogous color theme and size.

Coral and Orange-red: Pair Autumn Coral (grows 2 ½ x 3 feet and has single coral blooms) and Autumn Monarch (grows 5 x 4 feet with semi-double dark orange-pink blooms with red freckles).
